October 12 Pachyderm meeting — Unfortunately, GOP State Chairman Erik Iverson has been forced to reschedule his visit to the Billings Pachyderm Club. He will now be coming on November 9th, instead.
As a substitute, your faithful blogmeister and Central Committee Chairman (same guy) has been invited to speak. I look forward to meeting yet more Yellowstone County Republicans, and I will be talking about some of the challenges that we face in Yellowstone County and sharing some of my thoughts on the role the Central Committee can play in addressing them.
October 17 Republican Women’s meeting — Elwood English’s presentation on the Japanese Internment Camp at Heart Mountain will not be at the usual Garden Room location at the Crowne Plaza, but rather will be at 7 PM at the Kim Brown residence at 1810 Poly Drive.
Don’t forget — to get those Oktoberfest tickets (see below) for October 27th
We need – everyone who is bookmarking this site and who is on Yellowstone County Republican e-mail lists to forward a link to this site and to forward GOP e-mail to a couple of fellow Republicans. You know who you talk politics with who agrees with you! We need to build an e-mail list of Republicans who care deeply about how our elections turn out next year.
There are about 90,000 registered voters in Yellowstone County, 2/3rds of whom have historically been registered as Republicans. Even if we only had 1% of those on an e-mail list, that would be 600 names — and more than likely, a whole lot more than 1% of our county’s Republicans care deeply about winning in 2008.
We also need — more precinct captains. We want at least one precinct person in each Yellowstone County precinct. If you’re not signed up, contact us for more information. If you are a precinct captain already, then be thinking about who you know in other precincts. If there’s already a captain in your precinct, that captain will be glad to have you on-board the precinct team..
Those who were at the Oct. 1 kickoff know that the state party has developed a working plan to help us know how to organize, to campaign, to register Republicans to vote, and to turn out the vote. Step one is to identify captains in each precinct — and that’s just the start of putting together precinct teams in every precinct in the county.
In short, we need to hear from you. And it’s not too early to start getting organized — far from it.
And when we’re watching those election returns together next November, and seeing our every expectation exceeded, it will all have been worth it.
Brad Anderson, Chairman, Yellowstone Co. GOP Central Committee
